Well right behind Hail to the thief. I still think that one is massively underrated and an even better record overall than TKOL.

 

What are your first two favorites?

 

Kid A and In Rainbows

 

Idk if I’ve said it here but Separator alone elevates TKOL to another level. That was my song when I came out, and it’s ultra calming for me

 

The whole second half is top tier

it’s definitely underrated but i still don’t think it cracks my top 5 from them

 

Don’t avoid the “charge your phone” statement. 10% is scary man.

 

I insist, if u have the 45 rpm KoL record, play it at 33 - it is a revelation

 

I honestly would rather listen to Pablo Honey than TKOL. That record is not good. Easily their most inessential work by a fairly large margin.

 

I'll take TKOL every single time over Pablo

TKOL meanders a little at times, but it is still very good and has some fantastic songs that rank highly in the grand scheme of Radiohead

 

I’ll take “Creep” over anything on TKOL

 

imo, TKOL is one of their 3 masterpieces, other two being Kid A and In Rainbows

 

TKOL is more good than not. About half of the songs (and Supercollider) are excellent. It is brought down by being a completely disappointing follow up to In Rainbows in length and arguably stylistically, and a couple bottom tier RH songs in Little By Little and Codex. (Sorry I know that second one is fighting words for some.)

pablo is such a meh record - if it wasn’t Rh no one would care about it

heck, half of the Rh fans don’t even care about it

KoL is very good and it’s fun to listen to because it is very obvious what music the guys were obsessing over while writing it

 

There are at most 4 or 5 songs they play better live than Bloom

 

I’m not even a Rh fan but there’s few bands that compare to them live

NIN comes to mind (not even a NIN fan either lol)

TKOL is a meh record with no “Creep”

That’s basically where I’m at. I don’t deny the musicianship on TKOL. It’s just a pain in the ass to listen to.
