These setlists are so dope. Think i like last nights even more than the first night. Can't wait for my date.
Finally hit my first Radiohead show last night at Madison Square Garden and god damn that was the good stuff. Geeked super hard when they started "Let Down" and had my soul shaken by Thom's voice during the crescendo. The songs from The King of Limbs really blew me away in a live setting—particularly "Bloom" and "Lotus Flower." I read people complaining about talkers on their subreddit, but I thought the crowd was super respectful and pin-drop quiet during even the lowest volume songs like "Daydreaming." Coming from the Phish world, I also love when fanbases are connected in on a secret language—knowing the flourishes and left turns on composed sections to go nuts for, cheering for bustouts or rarities, etc. Great time!
Show last night was unbelievable. I cannot wait to see what they bust out at the rest of these MSG shows
Holy hell they were incredible tonight. What a set and they sounded absolutely perfect. The music swallowed me tonight in the best way possible. Fake Plastic Trees and Exit Music were both so incredible
I like the CoS ranking as well. Mine would be slightly different but. It’s a hard disco to rank. Kid A In Rainbows OK Computer The Bends Amnesiac A Moon Shaped Pool Hail to the Thief Pablo Honey King of Limbs HTTT has some incredible highs. But it’s shortcomings are well documented. It’s the one RH record that feels overstuffed and suffers from some sequencing issues. KoL has never done anything for me and imo is so innessential that “Creep” alone makes PH more of a must listen. Moon Shaped Pool is consistently very good to great, but outside of 2-3 songs never reaches the highs of their best work (tlw the obvious exception). The other 5 are all.....jaw dropping. I sometimes think I’m too hard on OKC...maybe my ranking is a reaction to all the accolades tossed it’s way but I just can never rank it above the 2 I have. Kid A is perfect. IR has “Weird Fishes” and “All I Need”, 2 of my all time favorite RH songs.
Phenomenal show tonight, well worth the 11 year wait to see them. They played a clip of Joe Castiglione (the Red Sox’ radio announcer) calling a game before The National Anthem which was a really cool touch.
Mostly just luck. Definitely happy to be doing it though. Every show has been a really unique and incredible in different ways. And I can now start calling out tracks based on what instruments Thom is using!
