Yea for sure. I’ve been listening to them for years but over this past year it just clicked and it an entirely different level for me. Without a doubt my favorite band of all time at this point And it’s now happening with the Beatles which has been such a fun ride so far
So with the holidays coming up, I'm thinking of asking for OK Computer on vinyl. Is the 20 year anniversary 3xLP worth it, should I ask for the regular 2xLP. Also, is there a pressing I should avoid getting? Any recommendations are appreciated!
That's what I was thinking of leaning towards. Would you say it sounds good overall? It's remastered, isn't it?
Yes it's remastered and it sounds wonderful. I have the box set but I'm assuming they sound the same. You just can't miss out on all those b-sides. Man of War on vinyl!
First 2 are OKC and the 3rd has the bonus tracks. Have you seen the tracklist for that yet? Very incredible
Ohhhh I forgot that OKC is normally a 2xLP to begin with. And I don't know the bonus tracks off the top of my head besides those three songs Lift, Man Of War, and the other one
few songs get me in my feels the way "Let Down" does. Ok Computer has always garnered a lot of adoration from me mostly due to its themes, its cynicism towards modern living, and its brutal deconstruction of humans in the 21st century which is incredible considering this album more or less predicted those things rather than observed them. I think Let Down is a really good example of that. The song talks about how useless and small a single person can feel, likening one to a bug that has been crushed by a boot. The idea of growing wings is brought up and at first it seems hopeful, a typical "turning into a butterfly to break free" kind of metaphor but then its contrasted by the realization that its just a chemical reaction. Its taking something seen as beautiful or seen as a positive progression metaphor and then deconstructing it with a 21st century information-age mind, scientifically dissecting something poetic and boiling it down to "hysterical and useless". Fitter Happier also kind of does this and it also elicits a very strong emotional reaction from me which is brilliant considering how emotionless that song is. I cant think of any imagery to describe a modern person better than "a pig, in a cage, on antibiotics". im knee deep in some Radiohead yall pull up a chair while I prattle off some bullshit observations to trick myself into thinking the money i invested in my college degree was somehow worth it
Let down is my second fave Radiohead song. Only second to fake plastic trees which is what got me into the band in the first place.
Does anybody know where I can get mp3's of all the songs performed for In Rainbows Live From The Basement? It's not in the iTunes store anymore and it's not on the band's website.
