Amnesiac is one of my least favorite Radiohead records, but it still has some great songs. Packed Like Sardines, Pyramid Song, You and Whose Army, and Like Spinning Plates are all amazing.

I agree that it flows kind of awkwardly but to me if you can get past the weirdness of the early tracks it's a really expansive and diverse record.

I do think Pyramid Song, Knives Out, You and Whose Army, I Might be Wrong are all on a top 35 Radiohead songs. The hook on "You and Whose Army" is as powerful as any song on In Rainbows, to me the song build reminds me of "Alll I Need." "Pyramid Song" could've easily gone on kid A and been another amazing trance-mood, drifting song with weird chords and rhythm. You're not gonna tell me your head wasn't bopping to the beat of "I Might Be Wrong" and that distinctive, sharp guitar tone. "Knives Out" is just straight up smooth.

But I also like the weird songs for the sake of weird. I used to hate that push-pull doors song (track 3) but it's grown on me because the production in the background is cool. "Like Spinning Plates" isn't a strong composition song or anything but it's really trippy sounding and very creaive with those soft, reversed samples of other Radiohead songs in the background. Etc

I do like Life in a Glasshouse. But there's honestly very few songs from OKC through In Rainbows that I don't care for. Five lights out records right there.

"Sail To the Moon" is an AMAZING, amd very signature style-wise, Radiohead song I feel like gets overlooked.

I couldn't stand Packt and Push/Pull whatever it is. I'll give this another try though.

The live piano version of this song is incredible. Think it's a lot stronger compositionally when you hear it without the reversed samples gimmick as it adds a lot of clarity

Amnesiac is top 3 Radiohead for me. "Life in a Glass House", "Knives Out", "I Might Be Wrong", "Pyramid Song", all so amazing. Only songs I don't love are "Push/Pull" and "Dollars and Cents".

You're not wrong. I've been a fan since around the time it came out and I still see it as a different animal than their real masterpieces. It has some great individual tracks, but it certainly can't even hold a candle to Kid A. I'm flabbergasted by how many fans hold it up at a similar level, personally.

Packt is excellent and Amnesiac easily belongs in the convo of their classic albums.

Honestly really bums me out that OK Computer might actually be under appreciated here. It's fucking OK Computer.

Thank god I'm not just crazy, haha. I'll of course give it more listens but I was taken aback right away by how much weaker I thought the whole thing was.

This is a pretty unpopular opinion but for me it's the lackluster songs between the amazing ones that make OKC not have as much staying power. Paranoid Android, Subterranean Homesick Alien, Karma Police, Climbing Up The Walls, and Tourist are all 10/10 songs, but I'm not as big a fan of Exit Music For A Film or Let Down as most people and actually I think Let Down and No Surprises are interchangeable songs that didn't need to be on the same record.

I also think it really trails off too early and often end up turning it off after Climbing Up The Walls, which I may not even get past Fitter Happier (I've heard it a thousand times and have a poster that says those words, not really any memorable melody or pattern in that track, and Karma Police would end a 6 song EP nicely.) Electioneering is a song I have to be in the mood for, sometimes just too aggressive. Idk. It was one of my favorite albums when I first heard it but I've come to realize in hindsight, after listening to their discog a ton for the past several years, that I think a lot of their stronger songwriting came when they started experimenting and not just being a rock band.

I agree with OKC being a little spottier than its most diehard fans suggest, although my favorites are a bit different than yours. The back half definitely tails off a bit. For me, the first three tracks are jaw-dropping enough to lift the record pretty high in their discography, along with a few others. But on any given listen, I'm tempted to skip 2 or 3 tracks.

I kind of agree but the songs I don't like as much are your favourites haha, like Karma Police and Alien are kinda meh for me. Let Down, Exit Music and No Surprises are 10/10

Oh man really surprised to see people don't like "Subterranean." That is an amazing song to me. They kinda nailed the spacey, atmospheric sound they were going for (which fits the lyrics) and the keyboard parts are doing these awesome, complex fills in the background the whole time. Great chords/melody too, still strong composition even if you just play an acoustic cover of it.

I also can relate to the meaning of the song, basically feeling ostracized by a society that takes life too seriously and doesnt stop to appreciate the beauty in the world.

There's not a track on OK Computer I don't like. I can't skip a track on that album.

I don't skip tracks on HTTT anymore.

Some of the tracks on OKC are just decent pop songs that got old after awhile. But on Hail, its the oposite, all the good, catchy tracks have stayed good and even the weird out-there ones I didn't really like at first ("Backdrifts", "Scatterbrain", "We Suck Young Blood", "Myxomatosis") I now "get" and love, as I got older and became more open minded etc. It's a record that really grew on me as I evolved as a music fan.

"The Gloaming" is the only song on that 14 track record I still don't like. I guess I do skip that one but sometimes I don't just because it's short and There There is right around the corner.

Am I in rare company if I say HTTT is better than OKC and it's not even that close? None of their records show you as many different sides of their sound as Hail does, and they managed to squeeze like 7 or 8 absolute hits on an album that also does tons of weird shit. I struggle to find a more diverse record by any rock band.

The Gloaming was originally supposed to be the title of the album. Still think it would have fit perfect.
