IR just feels like a group of better tracks plain and simple for me. Tracks like Glass Eyes and Ful Stop do reach the intricate heights of IR though.
IR is def the better record. If you count disk 1 and 2 together. It's prob my favorite release. The new album is missing the same number of absolute gems.
Even though I think IR is better, there's room in my heart for both that and AMSP. I think the latter has a handful of standouts still: Burn The Witch, Daydreaming, Ful Stop, Identikit, and True Love Waits are all great tracks to me
My biggest issue with AMSP is it seems to lack energy. Don't need fast or heavy it just seems to move at one steadfast pace. My biggest issue with TKOL is it seems so jittery and frantic. Nowhere to catch your breath. IR seems to balance the two. Which hits my sweet spot
I guess "Ful Stop" is the only energetic cut on there, come to think of it. However, you could probably say the same about Kid A, which I personally consider their best (and one of the best albums of all time). However, I totally agree that In Rainbows has a great mix of styles while still being spectacular, if that's your thing.
Kid A kicks the tempo up when it needs to ("Idioteque," "Optimistic," "The National Anthem"). Its sequencing and overall flow are far superior to AMSP's, in my opinion.
Wouldn't dispute that Kid A is the superior record, as well as being one of the most cohesive of all time. Just saying, a Radiohead record mainly full of plodding tracks isn't necessarily a fault in itself.
Amazing, I always knew it was heavily syncopated but I'm not sure if I knew it started on the pickup.
I had one device in the waiting room and another that I just refreshed at 10 and the latter was the one that went through. I'm so excited! Tomorrow's Modern Boxes is really underrated and I'm stoked to hear songs from that
Ive been meaning to ask people on here what they think of the album nowadays. Its easily my least favourite post OK computer album and has been since release but I remember people were pretty into it back then. Has the consensus changed at all?
