I'm not "bothered" by it so much as I think it's interesting and would love to hear the reasoning behind it.
There are so many more things I'd be interested in knowing the inspiration behind regarding this band and album, alphabetizing the tracklist being the bottom of that list haha
It doesn't bother me in any real sense, lol. It just reminds me of back in the day when you'd accidentally download something with no metadata and all the songs would load alphabetically. *Shudders*
Yeah I don't think anybody he said that they were bothered by the soya ethical tracklisting. We are just trying to figure out if there is a point to it? I'm not sure I've ever noticed an alphabetical tracklisting before either. @irthesteve
Not that anyone besides me cared for this album, but MSI's Franekstein's Girls is alphabetical Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
people definitely said they were bothered by it being alphabetical. my only issue with the tracklisting is it feels like I'm playing a stand alone single before an album.
haha, fair enough. i hope my post didnt come off as harsh. if anything i just find it fascinating that some people take note of stuff like that, because i honestly probably wouldnt have noticed if it wasnt for people here mentioning it.
I love Identikit so much also Glass Eyes and True Love Waits and pretty much everything here. Burn The Witch makes for a really good opener I think, I thought it would be when it came out.
Current least favorite is The Numbers, but only because lyrically it sticks out like a sore thumb. Don't really think a song about climate change belongs on this album.
This will take a lot of time to digest, which is awesome because The King Of Limbs (despite being pretty good) left me wanting more. Probably my 4th favorite Radiohead record already, though. Even the songs I wasn't sold on during the first couple minutes ended up convincing me with marvellous build-ups/progressions. Might be their bleakest and most hopeful record at the same time. It's that dynamic that sets such a melancholic vibe.
Can someone expand a bit more on that Possible connection/cross reference between A Moon Shaped Pool and LOST? That's something I need to know.
Just finished another run through (i think that's my 4th listen now). Current impressions: Burn the Witch is such a great opener and really gets me headbanging, especially the end when the orchestral part just keeps getting bigger and bigger. The "broken hearts make it rain" refrain on Identikit is one of my favorite Radiohead moments. Present Tense and Glass Eyes really grew on me. And finally holy hell is this version of True Love Waits magical. Gives me chills every listen. Also gives the song a whole new meaning with Thom's recent divorce and the album's overall theme.
The rest of the record feels extremely personal, and is almost entirely about loss/grieving/moving on. I guess you could argue it's about the "loss" of our planet, and that might be true. But when everything else is about loss on a small, intimate scale, it sort of sticks out. Not that The Numbers is a bad song, it just doesn't feel of a piece with the rest of the album to me.
