never really liked identikit or true love waits. the latter is better here than those versions they played live years ago
Really digging this more than I thought I would its been like two or three years since I could love Radiohead like I used to.
Glass Eyes - "I feel this often, go" like...unfathomable feels...probably my favourite Radiohead song ever right now
I have a strange relationship with this band... Started getting into them in like 2006... Had amnesiac okay computer and hail to the theif.. Then in rainbows blew me away and obviously I grabbed kid a the bends and whatever else in between... From then until about 2012 they were my favorite band, saw them in Camden in 2012 and it was probably a top 5 concert for me... Then I stopped listening to them completely. Until now and this record has me excited for them all over again..king of limbs was good, really good.. But this is something else, i feel like this will be considered a classic for years to come
we better get a from the basement or some thing similar. really really excited for that. I feel like I heard them say in the last couple years they would continue that tradition with subsequent releases
This is easily the best version of True Love Waits. The debut version with the synth over the acoustic is the only other that comes close. I've only listened once through so I'm not going to make any bold proclamations on it but it's clear they went all out in making this. I can defend TKOL to a point but that album sounds even more slight now than it did before.
this should be pretty beautiful live. also feel like it could be more revelatory in that setting 3 tracks here did nothing for me so far unfortunately
Yeah, a decade and a half of pining for a studio rendition of that version means I'll probably never completely accept the one on the album, unfortunately. Very, very glad that I haven't been following the band too closely in recent years, so I hadn't heard live versions of anything else on here.
My mom will be so excited for this last addition to her Mother's Day presents. Okay, so she doesn't know who Radiohead is, but I'm excited enough for two people.
I did feel that way about a couple In Rainbows tracks so I get it. TLW has just never been the best lost radiohead song to me outside of the version with the synth arpeggios so I was never quite as attached to it. Always thought the straight acoustic versions didn't live up to how great the lyrics are.
Haven't gotten a chance to listen yet but what finalized my decision to get the deluxe package was when I found out the price included shipping already.
It does?! Ooh so tempting, can't decide whether to splurge out for that or just get the limited white pressing for £25 somewhere
Omg reading along with the lyrics makes it so clear that this is all about Thom's divorce. And loss of a loved one in general, but I mean, yeah. It's heavy stuff.
