Whoever said this was the midway point between caroline and BCNR was spot on. I really like this album.

I also hear a lot of Tim Kasher in the vocals at times.

 

The Pitchfork Review is a bit harsh but I kinda get what he's saying. All the influences are there, it sounds great, but it lacks the distinct voice of the artists that it is aping from.

 

never listened to them under the old name but excited to check this one out

 

Idk I think it’s really good and feel like they have their own voice. Call it easy song of the year contender

 

some tracks here i don't really care for but yeah a lot of this is great

 

If i'm being critical it's that it teeters on Anathallo territory, a mostly good band that never did it for me and feels very of their time beyond that. But overall this kinda absolutely rules? Feels like BCNR if every song was Concorde or Caroline if every song was a song. Really good album.

 

Yea I think overall as an album it has some misses but there are like 5 songs here I absolutely love. A ton of promise. I always wish the single art for “Racing Mount Pleasant” with the pickup truck was the album cover, that’s some The World is a Beautiful Place type shit.
