He'd be 71 by then. Maybe it'll never happen.

Well, a beautiful woman recommended I listen to this band so I finally dove in today.

Listened to Green, Out of Time, and Document and loved them!

I don’t ever remember hearing “Orange Crush,” so it’s not worn out for me and wow what a song.

“Belong” also stood out as a very cool tune.

    Well, it's a self-fulfilling prophecy

God you’re in for such a treat. Wait until you listen to Automatic, Monster and New Adventures!

"Belong" is a top 10 R.E.M. song, IMO.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

respectfully, never having heard Orange Crush is absolutely wild

Listened to Automatic this morning and was surprised at how mellow it is. Probably going to go backwards from Document now.

But it does have Nightswimming on it so it gets a big boost in the rankings for that alone

automatic is my favorite of theirs pretty easily. i love the majority of their albums though, they have a fantastic discog. i just think that is like a top 5 album ever made, if not top 1

Automatic for the People definitely still tops my list. Such a beautifully melancholy album.

Genuinely loved that book. One of my favorite music biographies I’ve ever read.

But with Reckoning and Lifes Rich Pageant very close behind.

Reckoning is number 2, for sure. Picked that one up on vinyl for Record Store Day this year, so I've been falling back in love with it. They were underrated pop songwriters.

Also, the greatest sin of the New York Times Greatest Living American Songwriters list is that it omitted these guys.

doing a discog run bc of all the bumps. havent jammed the irs stuff in a while but that openjng four album run is just insane. fables is my favorite of em i think but any of em are a good pick

I listened to Automatic and Murmur yesterday but I keep coming back to Green and Out of Time.

On “The Wrong Child” when he slides up on “it’s okaaaaaay” gives me chills

out of time is funny enough a pretty big part of why automatic moves me a lot. i think the two of them feel cut from the same cloth aesthetically except one of them is very bright and the other is very dark. they bring out each other very nicely for me

green (and tbh also document) i have never been as into as the other berry albums but they have some great songs on em. the untitled song off green is unbelievably good
