This is really good. Experimental RnB that sounds like a mix between Liv.e, Emma Jean-Thackray and Anysia Kim. Been waiting a while for a new album from her and it hasn't disappointed.
Depends on circumstances to me. How much of the project did the artist do or not? Did they have wishes for what to do with their music? How genuine are the reasons behind the release? Etc etc etc
for me it comes down to if the artist had finished it and if they would've been comfortable sharing it at that point when they passed. if either of those answers are no, then I don't fully trust the release. with the last SOPHIE album, that's about the closest to being okay with another person finishing the album (her brother)--and I still sorta felt off listening to it, like the album would've been vastly different had she lived.
Yeah, if Questlove is overseeing whatever’s left to do, there’s no way it’ll be bad. They had been working together for nearly 30 years and best friends for most of that too. If there’s one person I trust to know D’Angelo’s vision, it’s Questlove. The dude is just as much of a perfectionist as D was.
Yeah that’s good, I’m into it. sidebar I really hate how on mobile I can click into a song link and it will automatically start playing
