Blood Orange fell off my radar for a few years tbh, as he hadn’t released a proper new album since 2018. But I’ve just gone through his discography again the last few days and reminded myself how great it is. I’m liking this new album too.

 

He has never missed IMO

The Jessie Reyez album from this year feels underrated to me, it's quite good

 

There’s this public radio station in my country that plays only Hip Hop and R&B for people over 30 basically (as a companion station to another public radio station that plays Hip Hop and R&B for 12-25 year olds or so - we have a lot of public radio stations) and this week they are playing their way through a Top 1000 that listeners voted on. It really hammers home how hard R&B fell off. You can literally hear how much bigger the budgets were.
