Yeah but Usher's output has been questionable for more than a decade. As a fan of both, it's a stupid controversy anyway... and people don't seem to realize Diplo's influence.

first off, there doesn't actually seem to be any controversey... and that Usher video is literally him singing the song, certainly nothing controversial... secondly, YES Abel was extremely influential in a ton of where R&B has come, what he said in that interview is 100% correct. And thirdly, Climax obviously was influenced by The Weeknd, that's not a bad thing...

 

Both fanbases (+ medias) made it a controversy. Stans being stans as usual

 

Usher made Confessions, it doesn't matter what he did or did not do after that
