Late but "Love Letter" is my favorite R. Kelly album if you haven't heard that one. He does throwback R&B really really well.
It's brilliant! It's such a feel-good album, it will definitely put you in a good mood whenever you listen to it haha.
I've heard a lot of people say it's his most enjoyable since Born to Do It, so I'm looking forward to listening!
Not in any way condoning R. Kelly's actions. The debate of listening to music by problematic artists is very widespread on here, and typically where I stand is if I love someone's music as much as I do his, I'll listen to it without supporting the artist's actions. Ironically Tyler, the Creator is another instance of my doing so (obviously not saying what he's done is at all comparable to R. Kelly).
Definitely always a good idea. The only albums I do not enjoy are his last two regular albums, though I would say this year's Christmas album is a return to form. Also, I think Happy People/U Saved Me is slept on and should not be overlooked.
Y'all ever give Jon Bellion a listen? It's Christmas Day and I'm on a train from Long Island to the city, and from there I'm taking a bus to Wilmington, Delaware where in the morning I'm flying to Florida with my girlfriend's family. It's not my preferred way to spend the holiday, and it's a transitional period in my life so things feel slightly strange, but this album is making it all feel okay. It's really euphoric, theatrical, and beautiful and I think everyone here would really appreciate it. It's called The Human Condition
I just realized I slept on the Gallant album in 2016 That ThisIsR&B list had a few albums on it that I completely missed
For some reason 90s R&B is a thing on Twitter today, not sure what happened but I'm always ready to spread the forgotten 90s R&B gems gospel
