Just got home from the Santa Ana show and lord was it GOOD. Quicksand was fantastic and they sounded extremely solid despite being short a guitarist. I’m glad I finally got to cross them off my bucket list. Glassjaw fucking RIPPED. They sounded incredible, Darryl’s vocals were up to par, and an excellent setlist. Watching old songs and new Material Control songs live made me really remember why I love this band so much. Well, I never forgot how much I loved them, but you get the point... The crowd was going nuts for GJ too. It was almost like Quicksand was just the opener and it wasn’t a coheadliner. This show was MUCH BETTER than the first time I saw them two years ago opening for Coheed. Also, Spotlights were pretty rad, and I’m gonna have to check them out.
Weird... At my show, people were moshing, singing along and jumping around. Quicksand, however, it was not like that at all, but the crowd was still into them. Did Glassjaw play first or second at the Sac show?
GJ played first. To be fair: they did just headline here in November with much better crowd participation. It seemed much more of a quicksand crowd
Oh yeah that makes sense. I don’t know the last time Quicksand played there so it also makes sense QS played second
Tbh this doesn't surprise me. From my experience Sacramento shows are not that rowdy. I used to live in So Cal and the crowds are usually much more active down there. Still kinda bummed i missed the GJ show.
