Pretty good, but have a few issues. The shot of Craig right after shooting up and just sitting there as he smokes and drinks beer wrecked me; fantastic performance. Some great lighting and music direction too.
Theres only 3 showings of Queer and all of them r London based screenings and not anywhere else in the country at the moment.
This is one of the best looking films I’ve ever seen. Some truly incredible shots/scenes but at times I was bored and I don’t think it totally came together for me at the end but I really did enjoy (most of) it.
The more I think about this the more I love it. I didn’t see any trailers or anything so I think it was just different than what I was expecting. There were only 2 other people there and when they were leaving one said “well that sure wasn’t challengers”.
Just sat down to see this! It’s also my first time at an Alamo Drafthouse and when I walked in (before the previews) they were playing William S. Burroughs interviews, and then playing indie rock music (and their videos). Way better than what they show at AMC’s before the previews haha. Edit: Everything they showed was inspirations for the film! Very cool!
I was the only person at my showing tonight which was nice. I think this just got more and more interesting as it went on and it's only getting stronger in my mind as I think more about it. The ayahuasca scene is probably one of my favourites of the year, just beautiful stuff.
Appreciated the craft involved with this and the soundtrack but this was mostly Not Good, But Worth Watching
Just booked my cinema ticket to see Queer at the only screening at my home city on a Monday night for one night only!
