Buffet and Gates are as good as they come imo. It is good to have someone like them on your side if at all possible. The nuance is that it is a case by case basis that they could line up with the interests of every day people on any single issue. They def have still donated to figures with various harmful agendas and perpetrated hoarding. Even if they muse about progress they are still chiefly concerned about growing their capital. It is good that they are open to look into the future and ultimately they could be useful political tools on certain issues.

Rupert Murdoch essentially engineered the Fox News machine that exists and has permeated every bit of how politics are covered today so honestly can't wait till that fucker dies

I don't buy the myth of the "good billionaire", is what I'm saying. Any charity they do is strictly for tax and PR purposes and is never as much as they could be doing.

If I had as much money as Bill Gates or Bezos, I'd pay off all of the school lunch debt in the USA. I'd start going down the list of people who owe student loans and pay groups of them off every year. I'd end homelessness ($20 billion to do so, vs. $110 billion that Bill Gates is worth).

I'd do all of that stuff and still be able to be a multi-millionaire at the end of the day. Even just a regular millionaire. And the days continue to go by, and they don't do all of these things. So screw 'em, tax them all to hell and take the money from them if they won't do it voluntarily.

 

@GrantCloud have you had any problems trying to buy tickets for the fillmore or through live nation? i keep getting a 401 error.
