So on my hiatus I watched a movie called Hereditary and it’s maybe the most a movie has ever upset me in my life. It’s also maybe my favorite horror movie of the 2010s and I’m sad I slept on in for so long

 

I can’t bring myself to watch it

Honestly it took everything in me to watch it a second time. At first I was content to leave it as a movie I adored but could only watch once. I’ve now watched it beginning to end about 6 times, one of those times was slowed down to about half speed with the sound mostly off so I could see any details I may have missed.

after I watched it the second time I thought “I bet Elizabeth has seen this and when I get back to chorus we’ve gotta discuss it”

every time I watch it I catch something new. I think I’ve settled on believing that the little light that seems to appear right before Paimon does bad things is meant to resemble a magnifying glass looking at little models, like in some weird twisted way it’s a subconscious connection Annie has to Paimon in like a metaphorical sense. Her whole family is just a series of miniatures that he’s shaping into his own vision. Im sure I’m not the first person to like believe that or play around with that theory but it’s something Ive been inebriated by ever since the thought fully formed in my tiny little noggin. I also just noticed in the drawing of Paimon he has 3 severed heads attached to his waist which I’m guessing is Helen, Charlie, and Annie.

I could talk about this movie for hours

 

How many times do I have to say my love is pure!

Trying really hard not to start talking about grief in Hereditary where I bring everybody down but it’s difficult!
