You can't, honestly. I've tried for years to get multiple people to just sit the hell down and watch movies with subtitles but it's like a hard-wired thing once somebody has decided to be against them. I've never come across any other entertainment opinion that is as stubbornly unchangeable. I don't know of any strategy that could work. Maybe try easing them in with a movie that has a lot of subtitles but isn't entirely subtitles? Like Inglourious Basterds? But idk. It's so sad.

 

americans don't like to read anything over 280 characters including spaces.

 

it sucks because I know that most people would forget they were watching a subtitled movie after 10 minutes, but getting them to even give it a shot is virtually impossible.

I think I'm just gonna go over to her house and sit her down and force her to watch it. Trusting her to go on her own isn't gonna work.
