As far as your regular/casual sipping goes, Bulleit Bourbon and Rye are undefeated and for the price pretty good. Woodford also good.

Scotch is tricky because besides like Johnny Black, anything remotely worth it is at least $50+

 

Is Johnny walker Black label considered good? My bud bought me that when I turned 21 and I didn’t like it but my whiskey palate is probably the same as a 10 year old

Black is probably looked down on by Scotch snobs but for a casual glass or even with a cigar it's perfect and gets the job done well.

 

I think most 'blended' scotch is considered bad by the snobs, single malt is definitely my preference but i wouldnt turn down a johnny black. Hell Johnny Blue is delicious.

I didn’t start drinking til 18/19 so I never really had a super “primitive” drinking phase but I guess it’s not like I’m cultured in alcohol when I drink Jack Honey lol. But I also haven’t done much dumb shit when I was drunk tho I certainly have one or two
