No I was depositing my money at the bank and when I came out there was a lady out there with kids saying they were homeless and the kids were saying they wanted snacks. I went back in and got them a 20 because the kids are probably out of school and hungry. Then I walked a little more towards my train and another guy asked if I could buy him food from a chicken place. I was like ok where is it. He said just at the corner so I started walking with him. I was super uncomfortable but I thought since it was close and people were around if would be fine. Each corner we'd come to wasn't the chicken place so I was getting scared and looked it up on my phone. It was coming up so I was like ok he's not lying I will still get it for him. He was like if u give me the cash there and i pay for it I'll get a meal free because they know I come in there a lot of something like that.. I was like ummmmm I don't have cash. So I was going to go into the atm place and he was like oh just use the one right here and started leading me down a side street I was like oh fuck no and got it from the other one and gave him a 20....when I gave him it he started going the other way away from the chicken place :/ Then he was walking up to another guy standing near us and THAT guy addressed me and said I saw you take out that money for her (the lady at the first atm) and I wanted u to make sure you were safe. You need to be more aware. Don't give them money anymore cuz then they remember your face and know you have money. I was like I just want everyone to leave me alone today! (I forgot to mention I passed by the lady again and she STILL hadn't gotten them food and was still begging for money and asked me again!) I started to walk really fast away and the guys started getting in a huge fight. I just felt really bad for them at first and now I just really feel taken advantage of and put myself in danger. I'm in the grocery store now and two more people have asked me. I think from now on I'm either just going to say no or give them a McDonald's gift certificate I already have on me. I just wonder if he was planning on killing or r***** me if I had went down that deserted street with him.

i wouldnt get too down on urself for that. panhandlers who are more agressive try to pull shit like that on ppl all the time, as cold as it sounds u never know what mindset theyre in or what motives they have. whats important is u got out of there. tbh i think a good rule of thumb is to keep the ball in ur court and only give shit to the ones that dont approach u and are just sitting around chilling.

no, don't feel bad. you were just being nice. i was approached once by a woman with a sob story about needing to get to the hospital because someone was in an accident. i gave her $10. scam or not, if i were in a situation like that i'd hope someone would help me out.
