i understand cancelling massive public events (like SXSW and Coachella) where people from all over are attending and you don't know really anything about the people you're coming in contact with, but, stuff like cancelling school seems so dumb, unless there is a direct case within the school or a family member of a kid who might have gotten it. it just feeds panic culture, which i believe is being taken to an extreme here.

 

I guess what I don't understand is that it's considered a "case" once symptoms are shown, which could be up to 2 weeks after the initial contact. So for 2 weeks I would have no idea and be operating as normal. They'd have to close everything.

 

It’s weird that concerts are getting cancelled but Disneyland is fine

Yeah I get that, it's tough, there's really no great solutions it seems, other than the obvious we should have been taken precautions back in December/January
