Some of the characters are so over the top in a nonsensical way that it takes me out of watching the show. Specifically Andy, April, and sometimes Chris. The show does have a lot of great episodes and moments though.

I know Rons character makes fun of libertarians but those kind of people are so annoying to me that I cant handle it even as satire. Also the neoliberal worship in the series has aged super poorly right about now.

 

Finally going to see Portrait of a Lady on Fire today. Assuming it will be the last thing I see in theaters for a while so at least it will be a good one.

Also I didn’t realize Lungs was transferring to NYC and I’m dying to see that, but the irony of traveling right now to see a play about personal responsibility and not being selfish in the face of existential crises would probably be too much for me.

 

I’m just going to say this even though I’m a week late to the discussion. I haven’t had the mental capacity to keep up with the thread all the time myself lately so I was oblivious to the stuff with @SlappinCups and @Jake W . I understand the need to check out. I’m living it right now. But I hope that they see this and the whole thread can agree not to use their mental health as a weapon going forward. That’s a fucking lot to put on somebody and without getting into any of my shit, for me, it’s extremely triggering. It’s emotionally abusive. Take breaks as needed nobody is going to fault anyone for that. I hope Jake and Cups are doing okay and getting some help if they need it. Hope the rest of y’all are doing well.
