I liked Zoetic but I have so many memories tied to Hello Good Friend and Do You Feel. They're both really fun listens.
Life Will Write The Words is my second favorite behind Do You Feel. It's got that awesome southern tone I really dig. There are even some moments that remind me of Noah Gundersen, which is rare.
I don't think I've heard that one, although I did see him when he was touring on it. I'll definitely check it out.
Springsteen's Born to run: Thunder Road/Jungleland Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds: Everybody's On the Run/Stop the Clocks Fleetwood Mac Monday Morning/I'm so afraid The Rocket Summer's Do you feel: Break it out/So, In this Hour... Saw the Rocket Summer last night! Bryce is badass!
Does Bryce still switch instruments from song to song? The last time I saw them (probably 2007 or 2008) they were opening a show and I think he played every instrument on the stage in the span of 7 or 8 songs. Always thought that was pretty impressive. I still have to check out Zoetic.
He does! That's around the last time I saw them too. At one point in the show he used several loop pedals and bounced from instrument to instrument to build a song. Started with drums then went to bass, piano, guitar, vocals. It was pretty gnarly. Definitely check out Zoetic. It took me a couple listens but now I'm hooked on it and the only other album I ever really got into was Do You Feel.
Do You Feel is my favorite TRS album by far, so I'll definitely have to check out the new one. That's awesome about the loop pedals. I've seen a couple of artists do that really well (Howie Day and David Ford come to mind) and every time I see it it blows my mind haha.
