^ Yeah, it's weird tho because there seems to be no reason to expect touring for the rest of the year. Unless artists will do in-studio/store performances and people can sit at a distance? I've seen people say they think its not wanting to distract from the political movements. I also wonder if there are some other reasons its being set on the backburner. We've heard most of the album so far, not to mention the acoustic performance of GTBA and clips of a couple other songs (really liked the 2 Lynn played that aren't album tracks). Straight up I just wanna listen to the damn thing already. I could never have this amazing restraint but I wonder how the people who don't listen to any singles or anything and wait for the full release are doing lmao
Seems entirely too coincidental for it to leak on the day it was due to be released before the second date change.
The release that is floating around *is* MQA, so this seems very likely. Either an automated service failed to propagate the new release date to a digital retailer, or someone dropped the ball. That's the risk you run when you push a record today, especially if you push the date within a week of the previous drop date. The band should embrace the leak and release the album on all digital retailers today. Edit: The source of the leak appears to be a European high resolution audio retailer that: exclusively offers high-resolution music downloads in stereo and if available in 5.1 Studio Master Quality in FLAC, ALAC, DSD, DXD-FLAC and MQA format for an immediate downloadI've never heard of the service before, but if they have pre-release MQA audio, it must be sourcing from an official channel of some kind.
This is definitely their best album, and it's not even close Definitely their best mix of their pop elements & rock elements. All these songs are catchy, but are layered to hell, and have huge choruses. Stay Gold is probably my favorite PVRIS song since St. Patrick.
Got a couple more songs to go through but the acoustic performance of Good To Be Alive is much better than the album version, tbh
horrible situation for them and their team all round really... but yeah gonna dig into this leak right now.
'Old Wounds' makes so much more sense in the context of this album. 'Dead Weight' actually seems boring compared to the rest of the songs on here. "Wish You Well" is a beautiful closer too, it just hits so hard.
honest question: how much do leaks actually hurt bands in this day and age? and is it doing more damage than the multiple huge pushbacks did? I'm not saying it is good at all I'm just curious what the consensus is
