Yeah I hate when bands don't evolve or change at all and conform only to the exact sound that *I* like
It's a valid opinion to have; the band had an amazing sound that really appealed to me back then, that really played to their strengths. Kind of pointless now to have a guitar player in the band. I know their sound now has a wide appeal; it's just not for me. I appreciate the band trying to do something new; just not as unique or exciting as the sound they started out with. I couldn't finish any of the songs on this EP. This is a band I've seen live three times since they started touring; however couldn't be bothered to see them when they came here a few months ago
It is completely valid to not like something, but maybe don't come into the thread about their new EP and post that you miss how they sounded 7 years ago and not expect pushback. Guitars can do a lot of different things or didn't you know. Lazy and misguided criticism. That's an opinion you're stating like fact - just because they're not doing something that appeals to you, doesn't mean they're not doing something unique and exciting.
I knew I was going to expect pushback, as I know I'm in the minority Of course guitars can do many different things; I'm talking about the guitar sound in the traditional sense, as in the way the band used them in their earlier material Art is a very tricky thing to have debates on, as what we say about a piece of art can be construed different way. For me, I found their earlier material much more exciting, unique, and powerful; a much better use of their talents
My problem with your criticism is in you dictating what is a "better use of their talents" and not. Which is a bit arrogant to declare, and ultimately, not for us to say. They're making the music that is right for them.
this rules and also they still very much have big guitar in the band and a drummer that hits hard as fuck when i saw them last month so what exactlys the problem here ?
Exactly why it's a bad take. I just saw them in Brooklyn and nearly tore my ankle off in the pit. It was the hardest PVRIS show I've ever been to lol
Well it all came today. idk if that’s the signed poster or not, but if it is it all came in one shipment. Odd.
I think so! theres a letter in here too, book of pictures, a Pvris patch, and two copies of the magazine with different covers.
