Stoked that Denver is one of the few US cities with a date, got my ticket this morning. Skipped PVRIS when they were here last year so glad this is coming around.
really cool! my first listen was pretty absent-minded and i honestly did not realise that was courtney for the whole second verse lol. she fits very well on this
Yeah my first listen was passive, wondering when Courtney was coming in. I can tell now that she's the whole second verse, just not used to her having that much autotune. Would've been cool to give her that second chorus too, maybe a scream in the bridge somewhere. This version is good because this song still rules. EDIT: is this a one off thing, or are they re-recording the whole album?
think there's a reissue with additional content (i.e. collaborations, remixes, B-sides, etc.), but i'm not 100% sure. would love for a whole second disc that's a new version of the album.
Might wanna listen again, she trades off with Lynn in all of the choruses after the second verse and is definitely in the bridge as well.
Anyways this is cool as a concept, really showcases Lynn's growth as a vocalist even though she already came out swinging on the debut, and hearing her with Courtney is neat, but don't think it can replace the original for me, Just like Taylor's Versions, there's little intricacies in the original recording that are ingrained in my brain at this point that listening to this just feels off.
there's an interview with Alt Press they did where Lynn confirms that a deluxe reissue is coming, and that she probably redid the whole album. https://www.altpress.com/pvris-lynn-gunn-spiritbox-courtney-laplante-white-noise-interview/
Love that the re-record doesn’t include the feature with Courtney. What a nice touch to give us both.
thought it was on the tracklist for the rerelease. did we get confirmation it's only Lynn on the full rerecorded album?
I trust you, but the spotify presave link has the original tracks on the album listing which is confusing me.
yeah, I looked at the Apple Music listing and the runtimes for the tracks are exactly the same as the originals. usually with rerecordings there's sometimes a difference of a second or two. i know in the desktop app you can narrow it down to the millisecond, but i'm not gonna do that at the moment, lol. all in all, i'm not sure if the first 13 tracks on this new version are new recordings, but i'd love to be wrong
