I found it strange that on Friday the hip hop station here played drakes track and was like oh this is a pusha t diss it’s a response to his album that just came out today And I’m like you don’t even play or talk about pusha t ever!? Imo if you’re gonna play a diss response at least play the first track for some context lol
Am I....not making myself clear here? lol I’m not commenting on the beef? I’m commenting on the radio station...?
radio stations won't play pusha even if it's needed to add context It's why I hate iheartradio so much
Why not? And it just seemed strange that they were talking about him as if you were supposed to know who he is even though they never talk about him or play him. So if that station is your only connection to hip hop you wouldn’t know who tf they’re talking about
Because the draw is Drake they probably don't care about whatever outside that, Drake is what's popular Why play someone who, while not underground by any means, isnt on the popularity level of Drake when you can play more Drake
Bc I think it’s following basic logic that if you’re gonna be like “check out this comeback” it’s absurd to do that without the original context
You're thinking too logically about it, you gotta think about it more of a business/disenchanted sense
I'm just spitballing here but labels pay radios to play certain songs or be added to the playlist. Drake is basically a guarantee to have people listen no matter. Pusha however isn't so those radios would rather you go find it yourself while they can still profit off their playlist?
Yea like I don't disagree with what you're saying but why on earth would they play anything that goes against the giant that is Drake, that's why it's not surprising to me I might be too cynical though haha
GOOD probably didn't send infrared to radio from the album. Had they known drake would respond so quickly they probably would've.
Even when artists drop projects with no single ahead of time they usually send something to radio after it's out. Arctic monkeys just did it with "four out of five"
I think Arctic Monkeys’ label had more time to prepare sending the single to radio and promotion. Pusha T turned in this album this week or last week, right?
Yea this has gotten to the point where it's just always in my head and rotation, I've listened through it like 12 times. Helps that it's a sweet 20 mins ha
