You're missing my point. The diss isn't the ghostwriting, the diss is the hypocrisy (which is actually his main attack (alongside "inauthenticity") for the majority of the diss.
You can't deny how good the drake response is. Rap beef is fun when people are actually making good diss tracks
I’m not getting why this production is being praised so highly. It seems like it’s mostly because people are aching for more soul or old school-ish beats. Not much compositionally that’s interesting. And the mix sounds ridiculously overbearing I want to understand if someone wants to explain it to me, other than that I just don’t emptionally connect to it
drake always punches below his weight. i’m not saying push is. but this is hardly a “response” when the line on the album is casual at best
I mean I love rappers actually pushing each other in the spirit of competition But also when’s the last shot Drake sent to Kendrick lol
For me it's just super satisfying and it hits hard. I could see someone going "oh he's just going for soulful samples half of the time why is that that good" but I think there's a good mix of cut up stuff. Like they're just REALLY GOOD beats to me. Like Santeria with that guitar plucking going into that second half that....the only way I can describe it is sinister? It's super cool to me. I'm terrible at describing, I just know what I like haha
