I’m not getting why this production is being praised so highly. It seems like it’s mostly because people are aching for more soul or old school-ish beats. Not much compositionally that’s interesting. And the mix sounds ridiculously overbearing

I want to understand if someone wants to explain it to me, other than that I just don’t emptionally connect to it

For me it's just super satisfying and it hits hard. I could see someone going "oh he's just going for soulful samples half of the time why is that that good" but I think there's a good mix of cut up stuff. Like they're just REALLY GOOD beats to me.

Like Santeria with that guitar plucking going into that second half that....the only way I can describe it is sinister? It's super cool to me. I'm terrible at describing, I just know what I like haha
