After two listens, the production is top notch. Sounds amazing. Other than that, this just feels like ‘another’ Pusha album that I’m left wanting more out of. Some of the tracks feel a bit repetitive which is hard to do because they are almost all under three minutes.
Beats are fantastic. Album is pretty solid after a few listens. Santeria is definitely the best on here
Got the biggest smile on my face as soon as I pressed play, don't remember last time an album did that for me.
Enjoyed this but 21mins is way too short - 2 more songs to take it closer to 30mins would have been absolutely fine and wouldn't leave people thinking "is that it?". Tracks 4 and 6 my favs though. Artwork is an embarrassing use of $85,000 but I will admit that I did not fully consider how disrespectful using it could be until reading this thread and some reactions on twitter.
I love short rap albums. Earls last album was perfect. Big fish is pretty short too. It's a breath of fresh air from the Culture 2's out there.
it sounds like a lot of pubs got an advance when the album was announced earlier in the week so they've had it for a good few days
It's in the bottom half but I think it's a fine closer. People just went nuts over it because kanye used to a classic sample for the beat but the beat is really simple and bare bones, not much even going on.
Every song on Yeezus is better than Bound 2 except for Guilt Trip & Send It Up IMO edit: and On Sight
Which is my biggest issue with it, plus that the rapping is really kind of bad. I realise going simple for a heartfelt song makes sense and it's a nice gesture, but the result is just kind of bored and lazy sounding. I agreed with this initially, but Cudi's part on Guilt Trip put it above for me. even if it's a complete mess of a song it's an endearing one
I think the rapping is genuinely funny and sweet at the same time. I think it's a good song just not oh my god wow out of this world that many including myself thought upon release.
