First new music from David Berman (Silver Jews) in 10 years!
This album is going to be good, as expected.
looking forward to this. the two write ups on him recently have had an interesting narrative to them too
Good reads. I’m so excited for this album and to catch him live next month, which is something I honestly thought I’d never get to do.

that Ringer article was a particularly good read. the wild thing about these write ups is the contrast between his demeanor and how it seems like by all accounts his life is still pretty blown up and he's got a lot riding on this record
I'm actually not familiar with Berman's work prior to these singles at all, but this seems like it's going to be a fascinating record. Seems like the guy has had one hell of a life from what I've taken in from the writing surround this record. I liked this piece from Stereogum.
Album Of The Week: Purple Mountains 'Purple Mountains'
Check out Silver Jews - American Water. It’s a perfect album in my opinion. The other Silver Jews material is great as well.
"And when I see her in the park, it barely merits a remark,
How we stand the standard distance distant strangers stand apart"
Well fuck me I'm listening to this album now
Hell yeah BNM.
Purple Mountains: Purple Mountains Album Review | Pitchfork
Album is killer, gonna be top 5 of the year for me.
Wow what a pleasant surprise. Was actually able to snag the half speed remaster of American Water last week for $11 so sometimes the universe just lines up.
didn't get to listen to all of this this morning, just til I loved being my mother's son, but this is wonderful. it really is some of his most direct work but no less affecting or specific
God ‘Nights That Wont Happen’ is gorgeous
