First two songs were clunkers on first listen for me. Got better as it went on though. Get Dumber a highlight. Definitely going to need to spend more time with it.

No clue what all the fuss about 'fuzziness' was either. First song probably the biggest example of it, but even then it wasn't anything major. Maybe cause I had pretty decent headphones, might be worse on my car speaker.

Glad they brought back some of their ska influence from the Topanga days for that track.

Don't know if I've ever heard a Pup album in full before now but this is good.

God I love this album. glad I didn't over listen to Hallways. writing something so hooky but with such emotional lyrics is quite a feat.

Best Revenge is a ripper too.

Just spun this again as my preorder finally showed up. Man this hit differently in finally sitting and listening through with headphones. Really enjoyed it more and could hear how much they just played raw and messy (in a good way). Kinda miss the jokey lyrics from other albums but definitely feels like a more mature release.

I have been working on a crackpot theory that the first few tracks have this fuzziness and distortion sound to represent the initial anger of a breakup, and as the album progresses the distortion lessens and there is a bit more clarity to represent the acceptance.

Very casual PUP fan here. "Kids" pulled me in and I've passively checked out singles along the way. But this is really, really great. Have had Get Dumber on repeat past few days.

Definitely thought this with recent listens as they have mentioned in interviews that the songs are a progressions and are in a very specific order.

Basically every song on this has grown on me, aside from Olive Garden. Even Get Dumber, which I didn’t like at all on first listen.

Concrete, Needed To Hear It, and Hallways are standing out for me.

Well hot damn, it feels good to actually get what they were going for. This album is really, really good. Regretting not buying tickets to see them now.

This is our 5th record and releasing it feels just as crazy as the first. The nerves never go away. We put all of ourselves into it and are incredibly proud of how it turned out.

Who Will Look After The Dogs?
is probably the most meaningful of all the PUP records to me personally. I spent a lot of time alone while we were working on it. I was shutting out the world and writing obsessively every day, trying to cope with a reality that felt like it was shifting beneath my feet. I pushed everyone away in an unhealthy way, but managed to find an endless source of comfort and joy and humour in these songs. We wrote too many of them. Most of them were shit. But the 12 that made the record, I’m gonna say are 12 of our best.

The record is messy and raw and real and it fucking slaps. It sounds like the 4 of us in a room, rediscovering what it means to make something you love with your best friends. It’s a feeling we haven’t really had since we made the first record and there was no pressure at all. Dogs is kinda spiritually similar to that first record, except I think the songs are way better and the band is way better. This one's full of really fun rippers, really heavy rippers, and really sad rippers. But they’re pretty much all rippers. And through that wall of fuzz and anger and sadness, I feel like I can hear us laughing with (and at) each other. It’s fucking sick.
