Show absolutely kicked ass. Cloud Nothings and Pinkshift killed it opening also. Probably my favorite show I’ve been to since shows came “back”.
Didn’t get too into the previous album. Immediately this one hit hard. The melodies are just so good.
i liked four chords but parts 2 and 3 aren’t my favorite. relentless and part 2 back to back is the only stretch of this album i don’t love
my subsequent listens have been way better, but i am not sold on the interludes. easy enough to ignore; i just would've expected them to be a bit more..clever.
Maybe this record will click with me more over time but I would rank this low personally. Definitely hate the Four Chords interludes too. Outside of Totally Fine, Waiting, Grim Reaping, and Bankruptcy - I’m not enjoying this as much as most of y’all.
Wouldn't say this is as good as Morbid Stuff, but it's growing on me and could surpass TDIO. I don't think it's THAT different to their older stuff, but I do miss the more ramshackle, off-the-rails feeling their previous releases gave me. But as always, it's got some huge songs and memorable shout-along melodies and that's what I come to PUP for really.
Feels like the joke running through the Four Chords series could have been better executed and more inviting, but I do think they’re cool in the context of this “puptheband inc” thing they’ve been doing with the marketing and videos. Unrelated, no spoilers here but I’m happy as hell with the setlist.fm entry for last night.
Easily the most I’ve loved one of their albums after a day of listens. I think they have a pretty incredible discography at this point, but part of me did feel like there was some depth missing from the last two records. This one has so many interesting things going on, I absolutely love it.
Oh hell yeah that was my only disappointment! I’ve got like six weeks to wait so I’m curious if they’ll be shaking it up.
