so they closed out their encore with a cover of el scorcho tonight at the record release show. un-fucking-believable.
Saw them do this in February with Jeff rosenstock on vocals and it was perfect and I nearly cried. Glad they're going to keep doing it!
this album is so fucking good. their sold out show in Toronto last night was absolutely nuts... i see big things happening for these guys. their last record release show they played at a venue with literally 1/5th the capacity of the one the show last night was at. crazy jump in popularity for 2 years.
Thought I would overlook this because of all the releases but I LOVE this album so much, deserve all the success they get. Need to see them live so I can shout I SPENT A LONG TIME DOWN IN THE BASEMENT INSTEAD OF ROLLING WITH THE RIFF RAFF
i need to relisten, hopefully i'll like it more this time around still excited to see them live, they always kill it, especially with rozwell playing too
I do firmly believe that the first three tracks are also the three best. Sleep in the Heat is my favorite after that, and then it's up in the air between The Coast, My Life is Over..., Can't Win, and Familiar Patterns. I do enjoy the record, but I'd put it at a 7/10 if I had to assign a pointless number to it. The production sounds... thin? Not sure how to put it, but I think a lot of these songs would benefit from a fuller sound. I do really like this record, but the writing took a step down from the debut for the most part. Guitar work is better than ever. I'm positive my opinion will bump up after participating in some of these live, though. Can't wait. I love the section in The Coast of "The lake needs to eat just like all living things, and it's hungry as thin this spring" followed by that guitar part. Awesome mood.
Listening to this for the first time in a week, I still really enjoy it. It has the spirited, scathing attitude and swagger thats perfect for summertime.
Played Can't Win in the office like 6 times already today and I don't see that stopping any time soon.
Looks like your co-workers can't win, they're growing up and they're giving it, it's starting to hurt
