I love his delivery on the verses, it feels way looser than the rest of their discog. And the bridge/outro is sooo great
The solo in this song is so triumphant and wonderful and is simultaneously very Pup and something I’ve never heard from them before.
In the Pup-zine Steve said he was going for something that wasn’t super flashy and paired well with the motifed riff in the song and I think he nailed it.
After a couple listens, it’s really hitting me how parts of this are basically identical to Can’t Win
Ah dammit, can’t make the UK tour. Closest for me is Leeds but it’s my brother’s wedding in Scotland on the Friday so travelling up on the Thursday. Bizarrely the wedding isn’t too far from Glasgow where they are playing that night. Families, eh?
