I had Action 23 years ago but prob haven't listened to these guys in 20 years. Stuck on their last album after shuffle brought them on. 2 tracks in and this is excellent. What else of theirs should I catch up on?
Delightfully pleased is my favorite punchline album. Front to back it’s a fun listen and it’s very punchline sounding.
Oh nooo, 37 Everywhere is still amazing as a whole to me, but all of their albums have got plenty of decent tunes (I love both albums mentioned above, too). I'd love to catch up with their discography podcast as well; I've noticed they're reuploading it through Chris DeMakes a Podcast, but I'm not sure where I left off last year
I mean, all of them, I’d say. I’ve been a LONG time punchkid so, I’m a little biased. I’d say their strongest material is the following: -Delightfully Pleased -So Nice To Meet You (EP) -Somewhere To Land -LION The rest of their albums are worth checking out, but the following songs in particular from the rest of their material are ones I’d consider great: -Play -Stop -Flashlight -Green Light -Caller 10 -The Fake, The Snake, and the Birthday Cake -Ghostie -Somewhere In The Dark -Castaway -Now I See -Tell Me How You Sleep -No Stopping Us -Simulation -Icicles
Delightfully Pleased is where I would start too, it’s fun, punchy and incredibly catchy. If you prefer more pop punk stuff move on to Action or 37 Everywhere, if you prefer the bouncier catchier stuff try LION or So Nice To Meet You The other records are all good too (I have a huge soft spot for Thrilled) so you can’t go wrong
Thanks. Action is the only one I had heard, bought it in 2004 in San Fran on a family trip when I was 17. The memories.
Favorite Punchline albums are: Lion, Delightfully Pleased, Just Say Yes I also really enjoy Thrilled. It’s different but a feel good album The Blue of Colors album is great too
Small Little Pieces is an all time great Steve album, for sure. If you want to hear more Paul, check out his old band The Composure.
I remember hearing something from 37 Everywhere on a FBR sampler cd and pre-ordering the album. I don’t listen to Punchline as regularly as I did when I was younger but I still love that album
