Yep. He was on the original version on LION. I forgot to ask any of the band over the weekend at 4 chord, but I’m fairly certain it’s the same audio for him on the new version.
Still kinda confused about the re-recording of Darkest Dark, it’s not bad at all but the original is already one of their top songs on Apple Music. regardless new punchline is always great albums growing on me
It’s one of my all-time favorite songs from them. It just gets me going. Plus, I love the positive message. Delightfully pleased in general is just top-tier punchline
Focus On Yourself is definitely my favorite from this album. Surprised at how much I'm liking this album compared to some of their more recent stuff that didn't click with me. Least favorite song is the title track funny enough. It just feels all over the place. Another One is great as well.
I love the title track. The intro makes me think of a video game load screen that drops you into a beat’em up game when the song takes off.
I don't mean this in a derogatory way but Find Yourself sounds like something from a Disney Channel Original Movie. Maybe the band has a secret side business going on? They'd be killer at it. I was really hesitant on this release because I was not thrilled with Lion but I really think this album will be my surprise hit of the year. It's super catchy and I think the mixing is great. Edit: the new Darkest Dark is much better production wise. Really love how they changed it. The only thing I think that may not be as great is the lack of group vocals on the chorus. It really stood out to me on the original.
Coyotes In B Major for me, I’ve thrown it in several jam playlists with friends and it’s become a fave in my circle.
Universal is good, but I could never get into Powder Blue—one of my least favorite on LION. But there’s just something about this new one. Love it ending with Chris and the “self” solo-ed. So good!
This is my first new Punchline album as a fan and I like it a lot! There are some parts that are relentlessly cheesy, but it’s earnest so I can vibe with it. Also the new version of Darkest Dark sounds like… WAY better than the old one. Kinda wild how much of an improvement it is.
I think we all agree that Punchline is good. But I believe this album is proof that Punchline is the best when Paul is involved.
I know that. That doesn’t change that he was involved in various aspects? Also, one of the two best tracks involves him heavily. I stand by what I said
