I'm two tracks into the Berries album that Chris Ryan mentioned, and I already know it's going to fuck up my whole list. lol
Check out their last record too, I like this one more but feel like the last is even more in your lane
Yeah the Berries always have a song or two I love but the record doesn’t do anything for me. Didn’t even know they put something out this year, I’ll check it out! Feeling very fatigued by the “catch up” tbh.
Hell yeah, Brian Dunne at number 4! Happy he’s giving that record some shine, it’s so good and woefully underheard.
"Catch up" fatigue is tough. I usually just try to take the pressure off by saying: none of this stuff is going to make my list at this point, but I can still build up a list of stuff to fill my listening in January and February when not much new stuff is coming out. Inevitably, though, there's always one record I find on the catch-up tour that I like so much I have to find a spot for it on my list. I was pleased about that too. Sitting at number 5 on my list at the moment.
The most obvious thing to happen this year is that nobody remembered that Chance the Rapper album to include it anywhere, not even for their most disappointing releases
