Had this exact same thought, it's like what More Life wanted to be lol Are you into Wiley at all? kinda surprised I haven't seen Godfather on a single list
oh it's great, I love it. just feel like he's kinda trying to incorporate a lot of that dancehall/grime sound that is being done elsewhere with little to no recognition
I was just playing. I get why people don't like More Life. It's bloated and shamelessly bites from all corners, but I love so many of the tracks on it. I think J Hus plays the sound better though.
It's because it comes natural to J Hus whereas Drake is a hopeless biter. Biters can make good songs but they're still biters, they're never as good as the real thing.
Skim through the album, I can share my favorite song but it'll tell you little about most of his other songs
There have obviously been more good American rap albums this year than non-American rap albums because of the volume of releases and so on but the "freshest" rap albums on my list aren't American this year
Fuck man I forgot about that album too, this is screwing with the list I already posted. I have to edit my honorable mentions.
That Marty record was a very pleasant surprise stylistically. Willie at least I understand. He's so prolific that he's hard to keep up with. But God's Problem Child was one of his engaged ones.
