It's like, lists are arbitrary to begin with outside of a few AOTY. Designating what you feel is a 38 vs a 40 seems meaningless. I'll keep mine to 15-20. If I feel bad leaving my list off, I'll make it 23 or 24 or whatever
I felt like I was starting to stretch myself doing 25, I don’t know how you motherfuckers do 50. Time during the day to listen to music, etc.
I am nowhere near close to listening to 50 different albums enough times to form coherent rankings for them. I'm old
It stresses me out to leave off too much stuff, so mine tends to lean longer. I've done 30 some years, 40 in others. All depends on how far down I can cut before it stops being pleasant for me.
This website is such a clusterfuck of food and sex chat threads that I honestly don't know what 99% of you dorks even listen to anymore
I did 40, because I had 40 records that I liked this year, wouldn't have been able to drag it out past that. The placements are all very wishy washy though, i don't think there's a difference between like my 22nd favourite album of the year and my 37th.
Man, this Elder record is real cool. Thanks Stereogum, Rolling Stone and a cool-ass album cover for getting me to check that out.
doing 50 mainly bc i loved a ton of shit this year and didn’t want to cut it off at 20 or 25 or whatever
When I was younger I loved this time of year because I found so much joy in making my EOTY list. No adays I don’t even care, I just love finding new music I missed in all the lists / threads / websites

So can I interest you in a discussion of Lorde’s, Jay-Z’s, Taylor Swift’s, and/or Jason Isbell’s eating habits, or
