same way as brand new this year, i wouldn't list something that i don't plan on listening to again. albums matter in context, can't consider an album a great album if it's unlistenable due to reasons like this
I wouldn't say this year is better than last year or vice versa, but I do think there are more albums from 2017 that will have greater longevity for me than there were last year.
I feel like there are a LOT more albums that are good. Maybe fewer that a great (though even then I don't think that's true) but I've heard a lot of albums I think are good. And even the ones I don't seem to be well liked.
there are definitely years that long term stand out for me more. 2011 and 2015 have a much higher proportion of my all time favorites than any other year
the funny part is i'm willing to bet that there isn't much overlap in the important records we both have from those years, hah.
carrie and lowell too i imagine. maybe emotion, can't remember how much you dug that. and iirc you're a big people and things fan, correct?
i sold my ticket to the NPR anniversary show for tomorrow and the rumors have always been her (no lineup announced, hence why i sold) and i will be so bummed if that actually ends up happening though i did make a bit of money off of it
Oh yeah, definitely those three. Emotion might have just missed my list in 2015, but it would be on there now.
