    The rivalry is back on

I liked this album, but it also frustrated me because there were little parts of songs that heavily evoked Grimes and there were little parts of songs that heavily evoked Purity Ring, and it left me wanting them to hit the peaks that those artists hit at their best and I didn’t have any of those moments

very much a “high potential band but this album didn’t quite do it for me” type of listen

Going through the GvB list. Tirzah is pretty good (and at times brilliant), need more time to chew on it just like the last one. HTRK is great, enjoying this one a lot.

Tried out the Yebba album that's been cropping up on a bunch of these lists. That one is a miss for me. None of the melodies were landing for me.

That Little Simz release has been in rotation since i learned about it last week. So great. Someone on here suggested it as hip hop with the maximalism of Kanye's MBDTF and I think there's something to that.

Bunny is a fine enough song, but best of the year? no way. The list alltogether is pretty wacky, but that's pitchfork for you

Be Sweet is a great song, but not close to the best from Jubilee imo

I've only listened a few times, but Be Sweet felt like the standout to me on those few listens

That Stereogum list is pretty solid. Really good top five.

The Pitchfork list is interesting but no Julien, Porter, or even Sufjan is disappointing. I know they didn’t love either of those records but they still had songs on there I feel should have made the list.

You really shouldn't rely on a site who thinks that is the best song of the year

i've heard 14 out of that 100 from that p4k song list. And half of them i've only listened to once and can't remember what they sound like.

I don't think I've seen Foxing on a single list.

Little bummed about most of these lists not having Deafheaven and Foxing

Though very happy for JBreki, Polo G, and Armand Hammer.
