Publication End of the Year Lists 2020

It seems early already but I just came across the BBC’s list out today!

 

weird year for sure, I expect folklore to be the sole standout album to make every single publication list

 

It’s too early

 

This is actually late for the first list to surface, ha. Usually happens in the first 10 days of November.

 

I almost always, always, always agree that this is way too early. But there's not a ton left to come out this year that is scheduled. Aside from surprises releases, which I really don't think we're gonna get a ton of, there's not much left scheduled this year. At least not on my radar.

Miley Cyrus, Rico Nasty, The Avalanches and Paul McCartney are the only ones left that I'm looking forward too, I am sure I am missing some though

 

I’m looking forward to seeing how many people don’t have Taylor Swift or Fiona Apple in their lists. My bet is 2 people. Not including me.

Shawn Mendes album is out December 4, and I actually like his music and am anticipating that as well.

I usually only really get something out of NPR and Passion of The Weiss, but damn it I read them all

 

Gorilla vs. Bear usually publishes theirs the first week of December. Always find that one to be my favorite.

 

With TMT gone, The Quietus list is probably the only one I’ll really “discover” much from. Already checked out one record I hadn’t heard (Squarepusher) and it was extremely my shit. The half I’ve heard from the top 10 are all really cool records that I don’t expect to place highly (or at all) at many other publications.

Is there as user end of year list thread yet? I don't see one but then again I'm very bad at finding threads for some reason.

 

Doesn't the thread normally get posted on the 1st? Or am I imagining that?
