I'm excited for these lists simply because I thought this has been a down year for music overall and I'm hoping there is some amazing stuff I missed

 

I'm doing terribly on 3/4 lists that have come out so far. But I did pretty poorly on the Uncut list last year, too, so not stressing yet.

Any list with Lucy at 1 is A+, even if I don’t like any of the rest of that top 5 at all

 

Paste is by far the list I've heard the most of so far.

S/O to Consequence of Sound for being the only list with Saba so far.

 

Really feel like I'm missing something with that Mitski album. I did not enjoy it at all.

 

So far the ones that I'm not getting are Shame and Soccer Mommy.

I like the Soccer Mommy record a lot but it's regularly in the Top 20 and I just don't get it. I also didn't even think Shame was good. I'll be revisiting that one.

 

Surprised Arctic Monkeys didn't end up on CoS.

Also glad to see Amen Dunes and Tomberlin on Line of Best Fit!

 

Oh yeah Arctic Monkeys is another one. Did not like that one at all.

So far CoS is the one I've added the least new albums from.
I'm not gonna even bother mentioning the one I've added the most new albums from cause The Quietus is gonna beat it out anyway.

 

Soccer Mommy was fine. I felt no real urge to go back to it. Thought the Arctic Monkeys record was bad.

 

Soccer Mommy and Snail Mail are in the same boat for me. Both are fine (except that I really did not enjoy Snail Mail live), have a couple solid songs, but there’s a ton happening in the singer-songwriter space that I find a lot more engaging so I wouldn’t put either of them near my personal top 50 list

 

I love Snail Mail. Definitely in my top 50.
