That cobalt album is fucking piff For how much everyone loved isis it's weird that sumac doesn't get half the attention they did
being upset with mayer is worse because then you're not even doing the boring anti-dead aesthetic crap you're doing that mixed with the even-worse anti-pop aesthetic crap
stereogum list has probably the most genre diversity of any major list i've seen yet, and other than a few clunkers the quality is very high too
Like besides that the top 10 is the same as every other list, the stereogum one is cool and probably has the most stuff I haven't heard and need to check out of any of them so far
i actually like that record a ton. haven't listened in a while but it's so catchy for actual good hard rock songs
Smh y'all made your lists too soon!!!! J. Cole Releasing New Album 4 Your Eyez Only Next Week | Pitchfork

Also been compiling what I've missed from the lists so far (RS, CoS, Stereogum, Paste, Time and NME). So far my biggest misses are: 6/6: Angel Olsen 5/6: Bowie, Anhoni 3/6: Whitney, Margo Price, Japanese Breakfast, Jenny Hval 2/6: The Range, Savages, Stranger Things OST, Jamila Woods, James Blake, Tim Hecker, Schoolboy Q, Margaret Glaspy 1/6: 59 different albums Time to get to work.
a lot of those are great records but other than the angel olsen record (which we've spoken about) i'm going to personally back the japanese breakfast album really hard. think you'll dig it too.
I started the Bowie album twice and wasn't feeling it. Figured I'd come back to it when I was in the right mood, since he deserves that.
