    but at the same time, someone who's interested in this genre as a whole from a musical perspective won't have many female singers because so few female bands go into that style. now that's a separate issue having to do with women not being drawn to the scene, which is why any female representation is super important to draw more women into playing instruments and joining bands

    note: I'm all for diversity but let's look at it at this point to people who are mostly into music feeding off of emo/indie/punk. Not everyone is so actively looking to listen to music that is so totally different.

    it's only that way because the bands are associated together. if any random person who has no knowledge of the scene or genre listened to those bands there would be very little they have to relate them

    drake, 21 savage, tribe, kanye all sound nothing alike and yet are all part of the same genre. fucking crazy!!! who would be dumb enough to group them together??
