I have nothing against Lil Peep or him being on the list. He’s cool. I’m just picking on him because he’s the one they put right next to The Monitor and it’s ludicrous how low that album is.

For the record, I'm not saying "Oh, they said this then and are saying this now; therefore list invalid!" The record that is probably going to be my number one album of the decade is something I had at like six or seven on my list the year it came out. But I do think it's interesting to see how much a consensus ranking can shift even in a year's time. I guess it just shows that these lists are kind of silly and most of us take them too seriously. Ha

    Just a friendly reminder

Pitchfork hasn't even reviewed all of my favourite albums from the decade and probably never will because they aren't pop albums that they didn't review when they came out. It's just a list, flawed as any.

album holds up real well imo. The song writing on it is so outstanding and helps it shine above all the similar sounding bands from that era.

A few surprising omissions / low rankings on that list but I’m super pleased to see blonde / MBDTF as 1/2.

I think they put together a great list but when you look at the relative rankings of some of the albums the order looks a little silly at times.

I mean, personally, when I do my list, any rankings outside of like the top 3 will be completely and utterly random as it is basically impossible to effectively rank an album that came out in 2011 against an album in a completely different genre that came out in 2018 against a completely different album that came out in 214 and so on

I said this already, but holy shit Have One On Me is so good. How have I gone almost a decade without checking it out??? Especially since Divers made my top 10 of the decade

I realized when these lists came out that I somehow haven’t heard it either, despite loving Ys, Divers, and (to a lesser extent) The Milk-Eyed Mender.

Still don’t fully understand why all the publications decided October is the month for these. Not that anything in the next two months would make it, but the timing is just odd to me
