I love having the wonder years on that list with Bon Iver and Beach House and calling them all “indie rock”, it’s wonderfully incoherent.
Apparently Pitchfork readers really like Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, and Frank Ocean. Best of the 2010s: Pitchfork Readers’ Poll Results
i’m surprised at how high the suburbs is. just seemed like a lot of people soured on them but i guess that’s just the people i tend to talk to
In other news, the sky is blue. I actually think The Suburbs has only grown in people's estimation as that band has continued to get shittier. We didn't know how good we had it!
Pleased by the inclusion of St. Paul and The Broken Bones in the Paste list. Not aware of their popularity so it took me by surprise, though I'd argue their second album is better.
they’re pretty undeniably three of the best and largest artists of the decade, so yeah, that makes sense lol

I kept thinking that list couldn't get wilder and then it just kept going. A Guardians of the Galaxy comp in the top 20? Multiple Iron Maiden albums??
The Discogs list is just an aggregate of what people were adding to their collections, right? Not any sort of editorial/quality-based list.
"That’s what this list is about. Real people. Real collections. It’s comprised of records that Discogs users have either bought or want to buy, and it paints a fascinating picture of popular music post-2010." reading is tough apparently
Forgive me for not realising that a list called The Best 200 Albums of the 2010s is actually the 200 Albums of the 2010s Most Added to Discogs. I skipped the blurb and just looked at the ranking.
