Well, I guess I'm not seeing this next weekend because I forgot my sister and company are visiting, so, fuck. Think it'll still be in theaters the weekend after?
Man I can't wait for this to release in Dolby vision and rewatch it with all the lights off and blackout shades drawn in my room
Yeah, no, pretty sure they wouldn't be down for that. They have a whole itinerary mapped out. Fun idea though! The funny thing about this is my brother is named Josh.
Yeah, the Mario movie is gona take a shit ton of screens. Might only be in the smaller auditoriums after Tuesday morning
hopefully the UHD for this is maxed out on specs. the closest Dolby capable theater to me is about 4 hours away, so i just saw this in a standard Marcus multiplex (albeit on a slightly larger screen). the Dolby Vision/Atmos would really stand out on my setup.
I can't just call off work. Also, our club restaurant will fucking kill me if I don't fix their printer in the morning.
At the Jordan's Furniture IMAX theater in Reading, MA, Jordan was going off about how this was the most state of the art IMAX theater in all of New England with "butt kickah seats" before the movie started and I wish I paid attention to learn why (beyond just the butt kickers. My Regal already has those in their RPX rooms). All I can say is the rows of 512 seats were cramped together and they only let us exit directly to the parking lot without being able to pee first. The building closed an hour after the movie started. I was pissed and had to stop at a gas station with my sister lol. Also, I was only 3 rows from the back and I still felt like I was almost too close to the screen. Can't imagine being any closer haha. We showed up in line an hour early too and they didn't let anyone in until 15-20 minutes before. Completely sold out showing, though. Line practically out the door. Worth it over all, but kind of a clusterfuck.
haven't been to a genuine IMAX since i was 10 (the Branson, MO one). would've loved to see something like this on that screen, if my recollections of its size hold true over 2 decades later. might have to make the trek for Dune, since it's an hour away from my parents, and i'll be in town for the holidays.
When the trailer for Dune 3 came on at my IMAX showing I immediately thought "oo I wanna watch that here" haha
enjoyed this even more the second time. the humor and the pacing issues I had towards the end didn’t bother me nearly as much and the relationship between Grace and Rocky hit much harder. still looks absolutely amazing on the giant ass XD screen. also I may have just zoned out for a second but I swear they cut out the part where he goes to Rocky’s ship. It showed him in the suit Rocky built for him but I legit do not think the scene of him on Rocky’s ship was played. I’m probably just losing my mind though.
I must have just completely zoned out or something because it makes zero sense why this one screening wouldn’t have it.
