I was in the same boat. Once I read about a movie I’m interested in seeing I stop taking in content until I see it. I don’t watch trailers. I don’t follow film development pre-release. It’s the absolute best. Even if it does mean you end up seeing a stinker or two occasionally.

I try and avoid trailers as much as possible but even outside of going to the cinema I saw the trailer for this 107998 times.

Excited to check this out this weekend in IMAX with my sister and brother in law. He was telling me he read the book a long time ago and loved it. I know nothing about it, but it looks cool.

Been playing the soundtrack at work. It’s excellent background music between ambient and melodic. But when I get to “Rocky Sacrifice,” I just start to sob.

Go see it on the biggest possible screen with the best audio you can. The score especially sings. Really good low and high end balance and some transcendent chords.

We're going to see it in IMAX! Haven't been to an IMAX movie since high school since it's an hour away in another state haha

You will not regret it. I tend to see big movies in IMAX because I have one 20 minutes away and if I am going to invest the time into going to a movie with or without my family, I may as well make it as good as possible.

This was the best experience I’ve had in IMAX since COVID. Better than Dune 2, any Avengers, The Batman, etc. It’s just a perfect popcorn film that also has excellent story. It’s not empty calories. It’s a full fucking meal.

I love the look of Dune 2 because it fits the story but I loved how colorful this movie was, colors are good! Make movies colorful!!

Ended up taking my 9 year old last night. We absolutely loved it. Rocky's over-literal interpretations of things had my son in stitches. Just an absolute blast of a movie.

Is IMAX significantly better than Regal RPX? I usually tend to go to RPX showings anyways, that theater is only 10 mins away. Still going to the IMAX version but I'm curious of the differences

  16. They don’t really offer the same thing. RPX is more comparable to the AMC Dolby room

Ah gotcha. All I know about RPX is bigger screens and buttkicker seats lol

  18. This was great. Despite the long run time I still feel like the last 15 - 20 mins felt rushed.

I absolutely fucking loved this and I went in completely blind, having heard next to nothing about the book

I was completely locked in the whole time, it didn't feel its length to me at all. Gosling was amazing as usual, the relationship between Grace and Rocky was perfect and the visual effects were absolutely stunning

  21. Really fun movie. Liked it a lot. Didn’t think it quite lived up to the insane hype but I still had a good time. Rocky forever.

unfortunately doubt I’ll rewatch a ton bc I can’t imagine it lives up to the experience of a Dolby room at home on my tv

i think the hype comes from people just being starved for low stakes fun movies that are still of a high quality

on its face no but the way it’s presented you kind of get the feeling everything’s gonna work out in the end

Technically, their relative position in the universe was lower than Earth if you are adopting the centurional vantage priority plane’s orientation and, technically, any life form outside of their natural environment and eco-sphere will exhibit symptoms of neurological alteration or “highness”, so you are both wrong according to the very narrow definitions I’ve chosen to adopt and selectively apply to each of you.
