This was very pretty and very good, and it made me very uncomfortable. Elvis, you loser creep! Cailee Spaeny was great.

 

Her best in over a decade.

 

This was so fucking good. I love when I can pretty much tell from the beginning credits I’m going to love a film. Spaeny and Elordi are incredible. The score, cinematography, directing, editing, set/costume design and whole aesthetic — everything all great. I was entranced throughout and the ending hits hard.

 

Coppola has always been great with music cues, but she was on another level here. Bookending the films with those Ramones and Parton songs were beautiful.

 

Yeah this is the ultimate collection of her oeuvre and can't wait to see what Cailee does after this and Civil War

 

Music direction throughout blew me away, definitely the Parton drop, but the contemporary compositions as well.

 

Looking up Spaeny made me aware of yet another Alien film come out. Is Elordi 8 foot tall or something? He was towering over the car he bought her.

Haha, I definitely looked up the heights of everyone.

 

His height and her performance did a lot to communicate the age gap & power dynamic.

 

Spaeny was great in Devs

 

Crimson and Clover was also used incredibly

 

Yea this was incredible.

 

First time hearing her regular speaking voice I think? Either way, yeah, just further solidifies her incredible performance in this.

 

I want to see this but also have no desire to go watch it in theaters

 

As someone who saw it in presumably the theater you’d see it in, that’d be a mistake. It’s very good and very worth seeing in that setting.
